Changing token name on third party sites to "Own The Doge"

Hello forum,
My proposal today is a simple one, and one that has been discussed a few times before. I suggest that we change the token name on third party sites, such as coingecko, coinmarketcap, etherscan, dextools, dexscreener etc. from “The Doge NFT” to “Own The Doge”. The current token name is not the same as our brand name, and including the phrase ‘NFT’ can confuse people as to what the token actually is.
While the token name cannot be changed onchain, this does not mean we cannot change the name on the platforms that are commonly used to communicate this information. The team has existing contacts with many of them, so we should be able to execute without too much difficulty. We should also get this oiut of the way before listing on more major CEXs to avoid further confusion IMO.
I propose creating this as a snapshot vote; change the token name to “Own The Doge”; or keep it as “The Doge NFT”.

Please let me know your thoughts.
Best,
Path

Yes all for it, we wanted to do this in the past but it was haltes.

Operationally we just have to make sure we have all the things ready: etherscan, inform all exchanges, update all dexes, etc

Nfts aren’t so cool anymore

Gm,

I very much agree to consolidate the naming conventions to something more uniform and clear = Own The Doge.

Coincidentally, myself & a friend of mine yesterday couldn’t find $DOG on coingecko. Typing Own The Doge, DOG etc., nothing came up - and it never occurred to me to search ‘NFT’ bc in my mind, its not an NFT but a token.

Having 1 name like ‘Own The Doge’ is cleaner, simpler and sets up for scale.

Thanks,
Dres

it’s not about NFTs not being cool anymore it’s mostly about describing the project accurately. $dog is an erc20 token so the NFT label is adding confusion to newcomers. I hope the vote passes and the name gets edited.

I approve. I say it also is a transparent process before listing on any major CEX. This is what I see us having to represent, full transparency, honesty and the DOGE values.

all for it, glad we’re moving forward with this, it has been discussed for a long time and a previous DIC vote from February was unanimous in favor of the change to “Own The Doge” across third party sites
