In-Discord Game - "Russian Roulette" for $DOG wagers

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a fully in-Discord non-custodial mini-game called Ping Pong :ping_pong:.

In a nutshell, it’s a game where players stake crypto, and one lucky winner takes the prize. It’s similar to a digital version of “Russian Roulette”. The digital asset can be $DOG, but if it’s preferred can be other digital assets too like $ETH.

I thought this community would be a good fit for this game. I hope it helps to boost engagement and make DOG more fun too.

We can deploy it to any EVM-compatible chain that suits. All contracts and ZK logic will be open source as well.

Keen to get the community’s opinion on a new in-Discord for Dog owners.

I have more material and a demo I’d be happy to share too.

Hey Ryan,

Thanks so much for your proposal idea, and for thinking of OTD community. I think this could be a really fun idea especially to help hype up our Discord.

Would there be anyway to dogify this game more such as adding a Doge ping pong ball or paddle skins (first thing that comes to mind)? We would love if you could provide more details including cost, functionality, etc. I am excited to explore this more as a potential option for boosting our community on Discord :handshake:

much love
Boop

Thank you for the reply!

We can definitely Dogify the Discord Bot for the Server.

  1. Make the Bot Name and Icon relevant to the Server
  2. We can add a unique emoji to customise the paddle.

To give you demos and a better idea of how the game functions, you can review the following:

Regarding cost, I do not intend to impose any direct costs.
Adding the bot to the server is enough.
A tiny grant <= $100 could officialise the addition of the Bot, and sponsor any customisations we apply.

The pots created in the game allow for compensating the infrastructure securing the games.
If the community captures a commission on each Pot for hosting the game, we can take a slice there as a fee.

I’m keen to get your take on the UX.

Hey Ryan, love the idea. I think a game like this would be fun but we will need to get legal clearance. I am also a little worried about OpSec around this. Will we need people to connect their wallets and play or will this game have an inbuilt wallet functionality where people can easily deposit and withdraw?

Which chain are you planning to make this on? Considering people might also enjoy low bets, I think ethereum might not be the best due to high gas.

Hi @nottyboy420,

What’s involved in legal clearance - and is there any way we can help?
If it involves contractual agreements, we’re happy to engage on this.

Re OpSec,
The game has an inbuilt non-custodial wallet where players can easily deposit and withdraw. In essence,

  1. the abstracted wallet must verify TLS proofs of Discord interactions, and
  2. cross-reference the user source of that interaction with the Discord user Identifier locked to that particular wallet.

The abstracted wallets are powered by our data sec infrastructure - which enables zkTLS.
We take security super seriously - and aim for this game to be a testament to our infra work.

Re chains we’re planning to deploy on,
Cronos zkEVM is an initial planned partner.
With OwnTheDog’s interest/intent, we can also deploy to Base. Base seems to be where $DOG volume is outside of ETH.
Otherwise, we’re happy to take suggestions for chains to deploy to.

Ooooh…can the ball be a tennis ball and the paddles doge paws?
